Young Commissioners
Young people (aged 11+) who feed directly into the YAB processes, including discussing priorities, supporting youth workers, inspecting youth provision for quality and making decisions about spending money.
Residential experiences
Every half term, a residential is held for young people aged 13 – 15 who need to make change around their behaviour. Ongoing support is then offered to ensure that the changes become permanent.
Taster days help young people understand and commit to the project.
Accreditation opportunities
Regular courses on offer including First Aid, Youth Mental Health First Aid, Food Hygiene, Skills for Work, etc.
Positive Activities
Holiday and leisure time provision to develop skills, confidence and self-esteem, including days at Appleseed Care Farm and Bittern Meadow.
Life Skill Programmes help young people to understand about money, running a house, getting a job, cooking, car maintenance and other topics important to them.
Mentoring
Service for Year 10 and Year 11 students to receive regular mentor support on a regular basis in schools – looking at futures and raising aspirations.
Counselling
Support for young people to explore issues that are stopping them access positive activity.
